Both PC base and POM valve body need to be assembled with other parts and electronic devices to make the whole hole circulate. The whole device is suitable for medical applications — environmentally protective, rigid, and insulative. When verified rapid prototype and low-volume production is needed, vacuum casting and CNC milling are considered to save time and cost.
The key machining challenge: the large valve body has multiple runners including straight and inclined holes. POM material is very easy to deform. The six holes (top and bottom) are not in a straight line and must all connect — with an upper hole size of 8 mm, lower hole size of 6 mm, and 6 inclined holes requiring 5 different rotational setups.
