What's The Project Challenge For The Projects?
⚠️ Key Challenge: The product thickness ranges from 60–90mm, with complex heterogeneous features — all parts must be assembled and fully functional.
Our engineering team must use extended cutting tools and both 5-axis and 3+2 axis CNC milling machines to complete these parts. When rotating to different angles, all holes and thread holes must be precision-machined to ensure proper assembly.
How To Understand and Make The Parts?
First, we conducted a careful design overview to understand the parts and suggest improvements when possible. Then, we applied Positive Material Identification (PMI) to test the composition of the alloys used in the tools and parts.
🔧 Fabricating The Prototypes
The first run of prototypes was CNC machined from aluminum in a 5-step process:
- 1CNC Program the Machines
- 2Engineering Review and Improve the Codes
- 3Mount the Workpiece on the Machine and Adjust the Setup
- 4Monitor Production and All Functions
- 5Do Adjustment to the Cutting Programs When Necessary
These practices are typically repeated in any CNC machining project; the cutting programs used are unique for each part. We had to consider things like machine type, part geometry, tool type, and raw material.
The prototypes were sent to our model shop and trusted partners for:
How To Develop and Manufacture CNC Machining Aeroplane Parts
Most aeroplane parts' CNC machining includes rapid prototyping and volume production. When making 2–4 prototypes, the features and material require us to specify the material supplier — such as 7075, 7475, 2024 and more.
🛠️ Aeroplane parts require us to consider the whole process: single part machining → surface coating → assembly. This is a very complex process, and our engineering team prepares a detailed DFM report before production.
We are dedicated to rapid prototyping and low-volume production for aeroplane parts, providing fast feedback and delivery with high quality. These aeroplane features require us to use 5-axis CNC milling to complete.
When you have aero parts CNC machining inquiries or customized parts requirements, you can send your inquiry to our team — whether you need 1 piece or more than 50 pieces, we provide the best cost-effective support. Tell us your requirements or expectations, and our team will serve you. You can start a new project now.
What's The Surface Finishing Can Be Done After CNC Machining?
After most of the aeroplane parts are CNC machined, we provide high-quality finishing options:
Shaft House & Engine Mount — polishing + hard anodizing for aesthetic appeal.
Durable protective finish applied after CNC machining.
3+2 axis CNC machining center + hard anodizing to protect the surface.
