What's The Project Challenge For The Projects?
⚠️ The main challenge is the product thickness is 60–90mm, and the feature is heteroideus — all parts need to be assembled and serve a functional purpose.
Our engineering team uses extended cutting tools, 5-axis and 3+2 axis CNC milling machines to complete them. When rotating to different angles, all hole thread holes must be precision-machined and ready for assembly.
How To Understand and Make The Parts?
First, we conducted a careful design overview to understand the parts and suggest improvements when possible. Then, we applied Positive Material Identification (PMI) to test the composition of the alloys used in the tools and parts.
🔧 Fabricating The PrototypesThe first run of prototypes was CNC machined from aluminum in a 5-step process:
- 1 CNC Program the Machines
- 2 Engineering Review and Improve the Codes
- 3 Mount the Workpiece on the Machine and Adjust the Setup
- 4 Monitor Production and All Functions
- 5 Do Adjustment the Cutting Programs When Necessary
These practices are typically repeated in any CNC machining project; the cutting programs used are unique for each part. We had to consider things like machine type, part geometry, tool type, and raw material.
The prototypes were sent to our model shop and trusted partners for polishing to achieve a reflective and shiny appearance, powder coating to achieve a more durable protective finish, and silver anodizing to create a beautiful clear finish that enhances resistance to corrosion and wear.
How To Develop and Manufacturing CNC Machining Aeroplane Parts
Most of the aeroplane parts' CNC machined machining includes rapid prototype and volume production. When we make 2–4 prototypes, the feature and material ask us to specify the material supplier, such as 7075, 7475, 2024 and more.
Aeroplane parts require further consideration of the whole process — from single part machining, surface coating, and assembly. This is a very complex process, so our engineer team needs to make a detailed DFM report before production.
🚀 We are dedicated to rapid prototype and low volume production for aeroplane parts and provide fast feedback and delivery with high quality. These aeroplane features require 5-axis CNC milling to complete.
When you have aero parts CNC machined inquiries or customized parts, you can send your inquiry to our team — our engineers will discuss each production detail with you. Whether you need 1 pc or more than 50 pcs, we make the best cost-effective support for you. Tell us your requirement or expectation, and our team will serve it for you. You can start a new project now.
What's The Surface Finishing Can Be Done After CNC Machining?
After most of the aeroplane parts are CNC machined, we will provide high-quality finishing including anodizing, powder coating and more.
- Shaft House & Engine Mount Parts: After CNC turning and lathing, we perform polishing and hard anodizing to achieve an aesthetic finish.
- Tube Fittings: Completed using a 3+2 axis CNC machining center, followed by a hard anodizing process to protect the surface.
