    • Parts machining process: CNC milling and turning, EDM, Surface finishing.
    • Parts size: Medical Actuating Device around 320×280×165 mm.

Production Capability For Medical Devices Products CNC Machined Manufacturer

    • Own 5 sets 5-axis CNC machining centers and 8 3+2 axis CNC milling machines.
    • 2 sets slow-EDM, 2 sets larger Lathe, and 2 sets grinding machines under 0.005mm tight tolerance.
    • The secondary finishing including anodizing, power coating, chemical nickel-plating and more.

What's The Project Challenge For The Projects?

The main challenge is the product feature is very complex, we need to machining these surface one by one, and all of parts need be assembled and make function purposed. The materials itself is very hardness, and it is not easy to machining. The single part for special dimensions tolerance is under 0.01mm, ask all of parts can be assembled and functional.

Our engineering team have to use extended cutting tool, and 5 axis and 3+2 axis CNC milling machine to complete them. The parts include multi-angle holes (the 25 holes of the bone plate are distributed in 10 different angles), microchannels (with a width of only 100 μm), and thin-walled structures (with a thickness of 0.55 mm). Also, there are five holes are undercut, and a series of grooves along the tapered these holes are accurate hole under concentricity and tolerance control.

    Deformation Control

Thin-walled parts are prone to deformation due to cutting force or clamping force. Therefore, flexible vise clamping and staged processing (coarse/semi-finish/finish machining carried out in stages) are required. For example, in the processing of aluminum alloy medical accessories, process optimization is needed to reduce the deformation rate from 5% to below 0.3%.

    Quality Traceability System

It is necessary to achieve full lifecycle data recording, including material batches, processing parameters, test reports, etc., to meet medical standards such as ISO 13485.

    Cost and Efficiency Balance

Customers often demand competitive prices including material and machining process. Creatingtec offers these suggestions to customers for review. High-precision processing takes a long time, and efficiency needs to be improved through automation.

How To Understand and Make The Parts?

First, we conducted a careful design overview to understand the parts and suggest improvements when possible. Then, we applied Positive Material Identification (PMI) to test the composition of the alloys used in the tools and parts.

    Fabricating The Prototypes

The first run of prototypes was CNC machined from aluminum in a 5-step process:

    • CNC Program the Machines
    • Engineering Review and Improve the Codes
    • Mount the Workpiece on the Machine and Adjust the Setup
    • Monitor Production and All Functions
    • Do adjustment the Cutting Programs When Necessary
High Precision CNC Milling & Turning

The mainstream technology achieves complex surface shaping through 5-axis linkage for the curved surface finishing of the actuating support requires a 3mm tool.

    Mirror EDM Process

Using the mirror EDM process for minor undercut features, as the CNC milling can't machine these areas.

    Polishing Process

Surface polishing process to meet the whole product assembly and appearance needs.

    Surface Finishing After Machining

Titanium alloy and stainless steel parts require sonicleaning after machining.

How To Develop and Manufacturing CNC Machining Medical Device Parts

Most of the medical device parts' CNC machined machining included rapid prototype and volume production. When we make the 2–4 prototypes, we have to consider using 5-axis CNC machines and turn-mill combination to manufacture them, then have after machining finishing process.

So the whole manufacturing cost is very higher.

Medical device parts need us to further consider the whole process from single part machining, surface coating, and assembly — this is one very complex process.

We are dedicated to rapid prototype and low volume production for medical device parts and provide fast feedback and delivery to you with high quality. We want to make whole industry medical device parts CNC machined for you, provide you customized parts whatever you will need — 1 pc or more than 100 pcs, we can meet your requirement.

When you have these medical device parts CNC machined inquire or customized parts, you can send out inquire to our email address so our engineer team will discuss with you on each of production details. Whatever you will ask 1 pc or more 100 pcs, we will make the best support to you based on cost-effective. Tell us your requirement or expectation, our team will make it for you. You can start a new project now.

What's The Surface Finishing Can Be Done After CNC Machining?

After most of the medical device parts are CNC machined, we will provide good finishing options:

    • Polishing
    • Anodizing
    • Powder Coating
    • Silk-Screen
    • Sonicleaning

Actuating Device parts, after CNC milling, turning and EDM process, we will have polishing and sonicleaning process to make it to aesthetic.
