    The main challenge is the product feature is very complex — we need to machine these surfaces one by one, and all parts need to be assembled and made functional. The materials themselves are very hard and not easy to machine. The single part special dimensional tolerance is under 0.01mm, requiring all parts to be assembled and functional.

    Our engineering team uses extended cutting tools, 5-axis and 3+2 axis CNC milling machines to complete them. The parts include multi-angle holes (25 holes of the bone plate distributed in 10 different angles), microchannels (width of only 100 μm), and thin-walled structures (thickness of 0.55 mm). Five holes are undercut, with a series of grooves along the tapered holes requiring accurate concentricity and tolerance control.

    Deformation Control

    Thin-walled parts are prone to deformation due to cutting force or clamping force. Flexible vise clamping and staged processing (coarse/semi-finish/finish machining carried out in stages) are required. For example, in the processing of aluminum alloy medical accessories, process optimization reduces the deformation rate from 5% to below 0.3%.
