What's The Project Challenge For The Projects?
The main challenge is the product appearance and tolerance. The customer asked us to perform 100% inspection and provide dimension reports. The inspection facilities are used to inspect each part one by one, without any deformation or color deviation. The customer provided electronic parts for assembly testing. The delivery time is 25 days for 500 sets of goods.
Our engineering team conducted a production feasibility analysis for the project before production, since this is one full project assembly.
🧩 Plastic Parts: We produced a DFM report, tooling layout, and mold flow analysis to ensure the 1st shot succeeded.
🔧 Metal Parts: We also ran CNC program simulations to ensure proper tool path planning before production.
How To Understand and Make The Whole Project?
First, the Creatingtec team conducted a careful design overview to understand the parts and suggest improvements when possible. Then, we produced the product DFM and project proposal report for review before production.
For the plastic parts, our engineering team held new product meetings to analyze the whole product, ensuring smooth production tooling and reducing trial mold time.
🔄 All plastic tooling runs through our 5-step process:
- 1 Our engineers produce a DFM report and mold flow analysis for review before tooling.
- 2 Engineering review and revision of the production process.
- 3 Mount the workpiece on the machine and adjust the setup.
- 4 Monitor production and all functions.
- 5 Adjust the cutting and casting programs when necessary.
These practices are typically repeated in any injection tooling project and CNC machining process. The cutting programs used are unique for each part. We consider machine type, part geometry, tool type, raw material, and steel materials.
In our prototype workshop, our machinists ensure prototype success and provide production feasibility suggestions.
How To Develop and Manufacturing Injection Tooling Parts
Most consumer electronics products include plastic parts, metal parts, and electronic devices assembled together. At the prototype stage for plastic parts, product features are very complex, so we use 3D printing, CNC machining centers, or vacuum casting processes to achieve prototype testing. The product appearance includes finishes such as anodizing, powder coating, silk-screen, and more.
Injection tooling requires us to consider the entire process — from single-part machining, surface coating, to final assembly. The machining process demands careful control throughout.
What's The Surface Finishing Can Be Done After CNC Machining and Injection Parts?
After most electronic device parts are CNC machined and plastic tooled, we provide high-quality finishing options:
🔧 Support and Cover Parts: CNC machining or vacuum casting for prototypes; injection tooling for mass production.
🏠 Enclosure: For prototype and low-volume production, we use a 5-axis CNC machining center followed by a hard anodizing process to protect the surface. For mass production, plastic tooling is used.
Customer's Feedback For Our Consumer Electronic Housing Production
We ship parts to our customers for assembling and testing, following every detail of parts function and testing requirements to meet high standards. We receive timely comments for new part improvements, making each subsequent production run more perfect and smooth. We aim to help our customers achieve the best effective products — great quality, controlled cost, and on-time delivery.
