What's The Project Challenge For The Projects?
⚠️ Main Challenge: The product thickness is 60–90mm with heterogeneous features, and all parts need to be assembled for functional purposes.
Our engineering team utilizes extended cutting tools, along with 5-axis and 3+2 axis CNC milling machines to complete the machining. When rotating to different angles, all threaded holes must be precision-machined to ensure proper assembly.
How To Understand and Make The Parts?
First, we conducted a careful design overview to understand the parts and suggest improvements when possible. Then, we applied Positive Material Identification (PMI) to test the composition of the alloys used in the tools and parts.
The first run of prototypes was CNC machined from aluminum in a 5-step process:
- CNC Program the Machines
- Engineering Review and Improve the Codes
- Mount the Workpiece on the Machine and Adjust the Setup
- Monitor Production and All Functions
- Do Adjustment to the Cutting Programs When Necessary
These practices are typically repeated in any CNC machining project; the cutting programs used are unique for each part. We consider machine type, part geometry, tool type, and raw material.
The prototypes were sent to our model shop and trusted partners for:
- Polishing — to achieve a reflective and shiny appearance
- Powder Coating — to achieve a more durable protective finish
- Silver Anodizing — to create a beautiful clear finish that enhances resistance to corrosion and wear
How To Develop and Manufacturing CNC Machining Aeroplane Parts
Most aeroplane parts CNC machining includes rapid prototyping and volume production. When making 2–4 prototypes, the features and material require us to specify the material supplier, such as 7075, 7475, 2024, and more.
Aeroplane parts require further consideration of the whole process — from single part machining, surface coating, and assembly. This is a very complex process, so our engineering team prepares a detailed DFM (Design for Manufacturability) report before production begins.
🚀 We are dedicated to rapid prototyping and low-volume production for aeroplane parts, providing fast feedback and delivery with high quality. These aeroplane features require 5-axis CNC milling to complete.
When you have aero parts CNC machining inquiries or customized parts requirements, send your inquiry to our engineering team. Whether you need 1 piece or more than 50 pieces, we provide the best cost-effective support. Tell us your requirements and our team will serve you — you can start a new project now.
What's The Surface Finishing Can Be Done After CNC Machining?
Anodizing & Powder Coating
Standard finishing for most aeroplane CNC machined parts.
Polishing & Hard Anodizing
Shaft House and engine mount parts — polished then hard anodized for aesthetic quality.
Tube Fittings
3+2 axis CNC machined and then hard anodized to protect the surface.
