What's The Project Challenge For The Projects?
The main challenge is the product thickness is 60–90mm, and the features are heterogeneous — all parts need to be assembled and made functionally purposeful.
Our engineering team utilizes extended cutting tools, along with 5-axis and 3+2 axis CNC milling machines to complete them. When rotated to different angles, all threaded holes must remain precision-aligned and assembly-ready.
How To Understand and Make The Parts?
First, we conducted a careful design overview to understand the parts and suggest improvements when possible. Then, we applied Positive Material Identification (PMI) to test the composition of the alloys used in the tools and parts.
Fabricating The Prototypes
The first run of prototypes was CNC machined from aluminum in a 5-step process:
- CNC Program the Machines
- Engineering Review and Improve the Codes
- Mount the Workpiece on the Machine and Adjust the Setup
- Monitor Production and All Functions
- Adjust the Cutting Programs When Necessary
These practices are typically repeated in any CNC machining project; the cutting programs used are unique for each part. We had to consider things like machine type, part geometry, tool type, and raw material.
The prototypes were sent to our model shop and trusted partners for:
✦ Polishing — to achieve a reflective and shiny appearance
✦ Powder Coating — to achieve a more durable protective finish
✦ Silver Anodizing — to create a beautiful clear finish that enhances resistance to corrosion and wear
How To Develop and Manufacture CNC Machining Aeroplane Parts
Most aeroplane parts CNC machining includes rapid prototyping and volume production. When making 2–4 prototypes, the features and material requirements ask us to specify material suppliers, such as 7075, 7475, 2024, and more.
Aeroplane parts require us to consider the whole process — from single-part machining and surface coating to assembly. This is a very complex process, so our engineering team prepares a detailed DFM (Design for Manufacturability) report before production begins.
We are dedicated to rapid prototyping and low-volume production for aeroplane parts, providing fast feedback and delivery with high quality. These aeroplane features require 5-axis CNC milling to complete.

What Surface Finishing Can Be Done After CNC Machining?
After most aeroplane parts are CNC machined, we provide quality finishing options including anodizing, powder coating, and more.
Shaft House & Engine Mount: After CNC turning and lathe, we apply polishing and hard anodizing to achieve an aesthetic finish.
Tube Fittings: Completed on a 3+2 axis CNC machining center, followed by hard anodizing to protect the surface.
Powder Coating: Provides a durable, corrosion-resistant protective finish for long-term performance.
