What’s The Project Challenge For The Projects?
The main challenge is the product feature is very complex, the dimension tolerance is very high, ask us to inspect these key dimension by CMM, and assembly testing out.
The product feature is whole cambered surface, we have to use 5 axis CNC milling, and machining these hook face in different angle, all of these holes are precision hole. Need to be assembled.
How To Understand and Make The Parts?
First, we conducted a careful design overview to understand the parts and suggest improvements when possible. Then, we applied Positive Material Identification (PMI) to test the composition of the alloys used in the tools and parts.
Fabricating The Prototypes and low-volume production
The first run of prototypes was CNC machined from components in a 5-step process:
1. CNC Program the Machines
2. Engineering Review and Improve the Codes
3. Mount the Workpiece on the Machine and Adjust the Setup
4. Monitor Production and All Functions
5. Do adjustment the Cutting Programs When Necessary
These practices are typically repeated in any CNC machining project, the cutting programs used are unique for each parts. We had to consider things like machine type, part geometry, tool type, and raw material and more factors to machining process.
If these prototypes need to have coating, we will send out to our trusted partner for polishing, and surface coating to achieve high standard, the surface coating have silver anodizing, power coating, and chemical nickel-plating and more.
